Prometheus® Bronze Clay is a clayey material that turns into solid, pure bronze when fired in a kiln. It is a mixture of micron-sized bronze powder, water, and organic binder. It can be formed by hand, rolled into a sheet or a string. It can be shaped, textured, even turned on the potter's wheel. Prometheus® Bronze Clay can be used with most lab-created gemstones (cubic zirconia), pre-tested natural stones, glass beads, ceramic, porcelain and Metal Clays. Prometheus®.

When PBC® is fired in a kiln, the organic binder evaporates, burns off, and you are left with pure, solid bronze. Brush it, pickle if necessary to remove any imperfections and finally polish.

You have 3 options for firing the PBC®:
1. Carbon Method*
This is a 2 step method.
Step.1 Place the dried piece (or pieces) on a stainless steel rack, place in a cold oven and let rise to 500°C / 932°F, or place on a stove. Cook it for 15 minutes, take it out and leave it on a fire resistant surface and let it cool.
Step 2: Put about 3 cm. of activated carbon in the bottom of a steel container. Space the pieces at least 1.5cm apart and fill the container with activated charcoal, close it and place it in the preheated oven at 820°C / 1500°F. Let the oven return to the target temperature and bake for 60 minutes. When done cooking, allow to cool in the oven or carefully remove and leave on a heatproof surface until cool enough to remove your pieces.
